This study evaluated the output, participation levels, and perceptions of effectiveness and value in a virtual forum involving 23 experts in adult education and community development over a three-week asynchronous session. Data from surveys, interviews, transcript analysis, and online discussions indicated that while the technology offers advantages for organizers and sponsors, most participants found it less satisfying than face-to-face interaction. The online forum was considered observable, trialable, and relatively easy to use compared to existing tools, suggesting its potential as a widespread medium for continuing professional education.
