This article examines terminology mining in the context of legal freelance translators, focusing on how recent technological developments have improved the process of finding legal term equivalents. It discusses the properties of legal terms from a Cognitive Linguistics perspective and presents various resources used by translators, ranging from traditional dictionaries to modern online tools and forums. The study highlights the time-consuming nature of terminology mining, which can account for up to 75% of translation time, and aims to explore how evolving search methods enhance translation quality and address terminological challenges.
