This work focuses on subjectivity analysis within online forums, which involves distinguishing between factual and opinionative information. Unlike previous studies, this research models the task as a binary classification of forum threads into either subjective (seeking opinions, emotions, or other private states) or non-subjective (seeking factual information). The study introduces non-lexical, thread-specific features to identify the subjectivity orientation of threads. Experimental results on two popular online forums show that the proposed methods outperform several state-of-the-art subjectivity analysis techniques.
