This position paper introduces a conceptual framework for leveraging existing vocabularies in the Semantic Web to connect individuals based on shared or complementary interests, particularly focusing on expert finding. It explores utilizing well-established ontologies such as FOAF and SIOC to match people with specific skills in social networks and online communities, ultimately facilitating the discovery of experts in particular domains of interest.
