This study developed a proactive online discussion forum to enhance social networks and facilitate help seeking for problem solving among students. Using a quasi-experimental approach with 37 students, the study assessed problem-solving behaviors, ego network patterns, and perceptions of help seeking. Results indicated that students in the experimental group had more frequent and in-depth participation in problem solving, and exhibited more positive attitudes towards help seeking, demonstrating the forum's effectiveness in promoting these outcomes.
