This study explores how personality traits influence participation levels in online communities, utilizing an online survey to assess engagement types and personality via the Big-Five Inventory. Results indicate diverse personality types among participants, with varying motivations linked to these traits. Specifically, individuals with high neuroticism were less active in community activities. These findings suggest that for online consultations, governments should consider the diverse personality traits of individuals when using online discussions to gauge public policy opinions.
