This study evaluates the deliberative quality of discussions in two synchronous digital platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic using a modified Discourse Quality Index. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic—such as rapid decision-making, increased complexity, digitalization of the public sphere, and emotional stress—the findings suggest that deliberation can remain resilient in crises. The research provides valuable insights into pandemic democracy, deliberative processes under stress, and the use of data in digital public spheres.
