This study examines the impact of a "troll" on a feminist web-based discussion forum, documenting how the troll successfully provokes members into unproductive arguments, thereby diverting attention from the forum's objectives. The analysis explores the strategies used by the troll and the group's ineffective responses, highlighting the vulnerabilities of feminist and nonmainstream forums, which must navigate the tension between inclusivity and the need for safety.
