The shift towards online resources has significantly transformed the landscape of health care management. Patients are increasingly turning to the internet to find information on health conditions, seek treatment guidance, and gain support from peers, complementing their traditional health care journeys. This paper discusses the potential of online communities to enhance the quality of care through patient empowerment, highlighting the existing research gap on how exactly these communities contribute to empowering patients.
