The Social Honeypot Project introduces a strategic approach to identify and combat social spammers targeting online communities, focusing on platforms like Twitter and MySpace. The project consists of two main components: deploying social honeypots to attract and identify deceptive spam profiles within social networking communities, and performing statistical analysis on the collected data to develop spam classifiers. These classifiers are designed to actively filter out both existing and newly emerging spammers, enhancing the integrity and user experience of online communities.
