This article examines the role of rituals, particularly post-voting, in online communities using Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) as a case study. It illustrates how post-voting can both enforce and undermine community development due to its ritual power, impacting inclusivity and exclusivity. The article emphasizes the importance of understanding these dynamics for those building online communities through discussion forums.
