The paper introduces "community intelligence" as a concept that emerges from Web-mediated online community interactions, inspired by Swarm Intelligence and the "global brain". It explores this field by examining the notions of "community" and "intelligence", and proposes a conceptual model from two perspectives: structural and dynamic. The structural view models the community as a knowledge supernetwork consisting of media, human, and knowledge networks, while the dynamic view focuses on the evolution of community intelligence through two forms of knowledge: "knowing" and "knoware". The paper also discusses several research issues related to this model.
