This study investigates the effectiveness of online discussion forums, supported by smartphone applications, in enhancing critical thinking skills (CTS) among prospective teachers. Conducted as a quasi-experiment with 37 participants in a Genetics course, the research applied problem-based discussion forums to assess and improve CTS. Data were collected from participants' responses and analyzed using the Facione CTS assessment tool. Results indicated an increase in critical thinking skills related to chromosomal inheritance learning through the use of these online forums.
