This article explores the trends, applications, and methodologies involved in the selection and management of participants for online panels and communities, focusing on the context of marketing research on the Internet. It delves into how the development of Internet technologies has shifted consumer behavior research online, ensuring the representativeness of samples due to the alignment of the Ukrainian population structure with the Internet audience. The study analyzes the recruitment of respondents for online panels and communities, discussing their pros and cons, and outlines the applicability and classification of online panels and communities based on target group characteristics and research needs. Quality control methods for online surveys are systematically reviewed, covering monitoring during interviews, data quality control, and panel management. The article concludes by highlighting the main trends in online surveys, the advantages and disadvantages of Internet-based research, and suggests future research should examine the psychological aspects of online community members, especially within the Ukrainian context.
