Parks and Floyd's "Making friends in cyberspace" (1996) examines the formation and development of friendships in online environments. The authors find that, despite the lack of physical proximity, online friendships can be as strong and meaningful as offline ones. The study highlights the role of shared interests, communication, and self-disclosure in building and maintaining online friendships. Keywords: cyberspace, online friendships, communication.
