This paper introduces a new methodology aimed at reducing the workload of e-moderators within educational settings where social software is utilized. By presenting a community-communication model, the paper broadens the understanding of the effects triggered by e-moderator actions, leading to a set of "effect-equivalent" interventions that can be implemented without direct e-moderator involvement but yield similar outcomes. These interventions aim to streamline moderation tasks and alleviate the burden on e-moderators.
