This paper explores the role of web-based online communities in fostering environmental dialogue, emphasizing their impact on cultural production, environmental knowledge dissemination, and the shaping of ecological citizenship and consumer culture. Through a netnographic study of a global travelers' online community, it demonstrates how these platforms facilitate the negotiation and understanding of environmental knowledge, promote sustainable consumption practices and lifestyles, and contribute to the development of active consumer citizenship. The findings suggest a need for policies that support the creation of online spaces conducive to participatory consumer citizenship.
