This paper addresses the challenge of extracting relevant information from online discussion forums by analyzing the discourse structure of forum threads. It proposes three methods, including a dependency parsing approach, to classify the relationships and dialogue acts between posts. The methods demonstrate significant improvements over baseline models, and the study also explores the effective classification of evolving threads, showing that performance remains consistent whether analyzing complete or partial threads.
