Wright (2004) conducted a doctoral dissertation at the University of Maryland to explore psychological sense of community (PSOC) in living-learning programs. PSOC is defined as a feeling of belonging, mutual trust, and interdependence among community members. Wright's study aimed to determine the factors that contribute to PSOC in the context of living-learning programs. The study found that students' social interactions, involvement in the community, and shared educational experiences were important predictors of PSOC. Additionally, Wright suggested that environmental factors such as physical design and architecture also influenced PSOC in living-learning programs.
