This study explores rape culture in social media forums by analyzing comments on newspaper articles about rape and sexual assault. Through naturalistic observation, four major themes emerged: Victim Blaming and Questioning, Survivor Support, Perpetrator Support, and Trolling Statements about Law and Society. Key findings include that 25.8% of comments displayed victim blaming, and perpetrator support was present in nearly all articles analyzed. The authors discuss the implications of these findings for understanding rape culture online and suggest avenues for future research.
