This study investigates the motivations behind women's consideration of labial reduction surgery through analysis of discussions on online communities and surgery providers' websites. The findings reveal that emotional discomfort regarding self-appearance, social, and sexual relationships is the primary motivation among women, surpassing functional discomfort. The study also notes that women express more emotional and psychosexual distress in online communities, while surgery providers' websites emphasize functional issues more.
