Certain communities excel in delivering top-notch services and products consistently. Their secret sauce is often Total Quality Management (TQM), a holistic approach that transforms how an organization operates. It's not just a set of guidelines; it's a culture, a mindset that revolves around enhancing quality at every turn. 1. Leadership Commitment: Steering the Ship with Vision Strong leadership isn't just important; it's essential. Leaders must not only embrace TQM principles but also be the driving force behind the organizational and cultural shifts necessary for TQM to flourish. Think of it as the captain of a ship steering towards the horizon of quality ex…

IPS has announced they will deprecate support tickets in Commerce. I am personally quite fond of support tickets. They have several benefits: - Dedicated one-on-one conversations - Emails - Sharing of private information, screenshots, etc. - Tracking of the issue progress It's not panic time (yet), because you can stay on v4 and keep using support tickets. You can also use forums, although that can get messy if multiple users are posting or asking questions. Do you have a recommendation that replaces support tickets? What's your plan for support on v5?

This is a tough question. Ideally most dev's would permit that keys for IPS Marketplace purchases can be redeemed here. I think it makes sense for those who do not have their own setup or means to offer an easy way for customers to download their resources. However, I would understand if this wasn't doable or even in the pipeline.

IPS leadership announces plans for public release and even betas for v5 before end of year. https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/475690-introducing-a-fresh-new-vision-for-invision-community-5/?do=findComment&comment=2956002 The full featured video definitely made me think they're much farther along they're letting on. We've only seen one feature blog so far and I'm sure they have more to share over Oct and Nov. This means we should get several more blog articles AND a public preview all over the next two to three months. In between, I'm sure we might have time to celebrate the holidays ☃️. If the preview cycle was anything like it was on…

Focus on this preview: Sidebar Menu Forum Index: Feed View Topic pages: Compact view Some questions: Has anybody noticed a trend, or even updated their forum index, to be simpler? The trend at IPS for the last several years in context of their forum views such as fluid forum and grid view are fewer and simpler categories, with more emphasis on surfacing the topics. Does the Sidebar Menu seem evocative of the Opera or Edge browser? What do you think about hiding all of the user information from the postbit in the new Compact view? That significantly removes profile information to focus on the content. Also, I shoul…

Achieving equity in online spaces helps ensure every voice, regardless of background, has a fair shot at being heard and valued. How do you foster a sense of fairness and inclusivity here? In your experience, what barriers hinder equitable engagement, and how might we overcome them? Decision sciences often explore how choices are made in group settings. How do you think the decision-making processes within our community impact equity? Are there any biases, possibly stemming from social hierarchies, that you've observed affecting interactions and decisions here? How can we ensure that the diverse perspectives are not just welcomed but …

There are some developers (maybe 2 to 3) who want to keep selling their files, but they don't want headache of running their own website, etc. If any developer (who already runs a store) is willing to open their own website to other devs, I will be happy to privately connect you. If YOU are a developer who needs help, please reply here or send me PM. Will try to help everyone. Why not sell on Invisioneer? Maybe. I want to be fair to everyone, and don't want to give the appearance of prioritizing some people's files vs another. I would strongly prefer everyone is equally treated.

How about removing this? With links it are no real downloads or installations. Everybody can click on his own files and fake tons of "Downloads" within a few minutes 😄

Inspired by Jay Clouse: "Packaging is the presentation of your product". Packaging is the community design, the icons, the typography, and graphics. Packaging is the theme, the aesthetics, the newsletter and emails. Packaging entices people to 'buy' our communities with their attention. How have you made your community's packaging more enticing for engagement? Psychological aspects like curiosity and interest are piqued by effective packaging. How have you seen this play out in your interactions? Decision sciences explore how individuals make choices. How does the presentation of discussions affect your decision to engage or contrib…

Inspired by the IKEA Effect: Ever put together furniture from IKEA? The act of co-creation means you end up loving that furniture more than your other furniture (sorry side table! You're not as loved as my vittsjö!) What does this mean for community owners? - Bring users into the development pipeline at idea generation, brainstorming, execution, or feedback. Highlight and tag users when their feedback become reality. - Allow personalization to help users "make it their own" - Be sure to highlight users that are helpful, informative, or provided super resources. Humans have a psychological need to feel a sense of competency

Inspired by the Quartz article: https://qz.com/knitting-ecomcrew-reddit-etsy-boycott-online-community-1850864449 Some thoughts: - I don't think communities mind being monetized, but I do think they require you to care first. There is a very high standard of duty for community owners where you need to consistently show that you care first. - If you're going to make money off a community, try not to make fun of the users. That seems to be a pretty simple lesson.
