This paper presents a qualitative analysis of discussion forums using a text mining technique that employs a graph formalism to represent relevant terms and their relationships. The approach compares graphs extracted from student contributions with important terms provided by teachers related to the discussion topic. Five experiments were conducted to evaluate the system's ability to assess the relevance of forum posts. Results indicate that the text mining approach effectively assists teachers in identifying situations needing intervention, enabling them to monitor discussions, contributions, and better mediate forums to support student learning.
