This paper conducts a qualitative investigation into how novices become experts within the sharing economy, focusing on Airbnb hosts and the Facebook groups they participate in. Utilizing the theory of Legitimate Peripheral Participation (LPP), the study reveals the learning mechanisms that facilitate novice hosts' transition into integrated community members. The findings offer valuable insights and recommendations for sharing economy platforms, micro-entrepreneurs, and the online communities that support them, highlighting the importance of learning and community integration in the growth of participants in the sharing economy.
