This paper investigates how organizations can strategically utilize online communities to adapt to a changing business environment through a dynamic capabilities perspective. By presenting empirical evidence from three cases, it demonstrates that online communities enable organizations to sense opportunities and threats, seize opportunities, and reconfigure assets. The study contributes to strategy and information systems literature and offers practical insights for managers on the strategic use of online communities.
