Hello. Hope somebody can help me out a bit. 🙂 I need to set up a IPS members' create/sync of those members who choose to receive community email newsletters - AllowAdminEmails - true setting if I'm correct to MailerLite/Omnisend newsletter platforms. But I fail to find anything that lets me to select this criteria on Zapier. All I get is to select a trigger event - Member edited. But there's no other settings to narrow this down to AddlowAdminEmails setting. Also how about when a member unsubscribes thru a newletter unsubscribe link which is then removes the subscriber on the newsletter plaform but does not sync back to forum? Can you shed any light ho…

Acid bath for human thinking. Multitasking is mostly a myth. Who has 47 seconds to actually spend time on a single task?? https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/28/opinion/artificial-intelligence-thinking-minds-concentration.html?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

A new player Perplexity AI, is stepping up to challenge the giants like Google and Microsoft Bing. Armed with an AI-native approach and impressive growth statistics – over 10 million monthly active users and a billion queries in 2023 – it's stirring up quite a conversation. But can this underdog truly revolutionize our search experience? What do you think gives Perplexity AI an edge over established giants like Google and Bing? Is it just about better AI integration, or is there more to the story? In your experience, how important is AI in enhancing search engine capabilities, and can it be a game-changer in terms of user experience? With the rapid gro…

There's a concept called Universal Basic Income (UBI). Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI and Tools for Humanity, proposed a twist. What if every person was offered universal basic compute, and what if every person could get a portion of that computing power, resell it, donate it? In the future, do you think access to AI should be a social good? Inspired by this article: https://cointelegraph.com/news/sam-altman-slice-gpt-pay-ubi-artificial-intelligence

Are you one of those super organized people with color coordinated closets? Or is your house in happy chaos? What kind of organization do you bring to your online community, especially in its management? There are different kinds of organization when it comes to your online community. For myself, personally, I think about organization along two major vectors: Administration of my site - This usually means record keeping of any systems updates, storage of any unique designs or icons, and periodic screenshots so I can capture what the site looks like. Ideation of content - This usually means a journal of ideas, how to efficiently craft and publish …

Something I like to do when I am not at home on my laptop is browse communities through my mobile device. I enjoy being able to keep in contact and keep tabs on things even when I am out and about. Do you browse communities through your mobile device?

Most of us enjoy being part of numerous communities, maybe some more than others but there will always a times when you are part of a community and there is something there that happens that is an instant turn-off for you. This could be something such as the owner not being as friendly as you would think, spam taking over the forum or just not enough content that you are interested in. I tolerate most communities and love being part of numerous communities but if spam is seen to be taking over the forum or the owner or staff do not seem to be taking action, are not very professional or the forum seems to be left to run itself that is a turn-off for me. What wou…

What do you think about baldness? What causes baldness? Do you think there’ll ever be a cure for baldness? Do you think bald men and women are attractive? Do you think it’s a good idea for a bald person to wear a wig?

Something I always remember was the very first website I created, I mean we all have to start somewhere, right? I remember my first website being a fan website made on Geocities for a band that I was a huge fan of at the time, after that I ventured out to creating more websites, learning HTML and CSS before jumping into building up forums and communities. Do you remember your first website?

AI technology is capable of creating hyper-realistic videos and images of celebrities or everyday people without their consent, poses significant ethical and legal challenges. As administrators and managers of online communities, how do we tackle this emerging issue? What measures can we put in place to detect and prevent the spread of deepfake content within our communities, ensuring we do not become unwitting amplifiers of nonconsensual imagery? How do we balance the freedom of expression with the imperative to protect individuals' rights and reputations in the face of technology that can easily fabricate realities? In what ways can we educate our co…

Hello, while browsing the list of providers on the IPS website, I noticed that many people mentioned when they started working on IP.Board. I don't think it's particularly important, but I'm more focused on the sentimental aspect. In the past, there used to be another support forum for IP.Board in Poland (which was later absorbed by my forum). I found my very first post related to IP.Board, which I published on December 26, 2005, exactly. Since then, my life has been filled with passion, challenges, and incredible emotions related to IP.Board. It not only provides my livelihood but also brings me a lot of joy and satisfaction. How…

So you think you've had a frustrating week? Wife was home with the flu and 9 yr old was home with pink eye but that was not really the good part. Last weekend, I emailed a IPS support ticket and then a second ticket midweek. After not hearing anything back for a day or so, I posted in the Tech Help forum. A staff member replied that the staff had addressed both issues within 30 minutes of my original ticket. I looked in my email and could not find the messages, so I went back to the forum and asked for the emails to be resent. Again, nothing. After a number of back-and-forth messages with staff in the forum, I assumed the issue could be with my primary email. So, I a…

Play acting the creepy and horrifying can actually help us get over our fears. Neurobiological research shows that phobias can improve after reducing the fear sensitization pathway that activates our fight-or-flight. Halloween is, in other words, “mass fear extinction therapy.” Inspired by Psychology Today: https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/culture-shrink/202010/why-halloween-can-be-therapeutic

I have a lot of hopes for this site. I have been meaning to join for a while as I noticed upon the launch of the new providers' directory. I also noticed with a keen glee, comments about this being created during the closure of the IPS marketplace. In the early days of having the internet, I recall using and being a part of Invisionize.com - those were the days. It's why it's nice to see a site focusing on providing developers somewhere to continue that together Invisionize fostered and eventually what the IPS marketplace becomes (but just for purchasing items). Invisioneer.org has the ability to be a great place, and I am hoping more people catch on to it.…
