Google's recent announcement to maintain third-party cookies in Chrome has left many marketers and community managers re-evaluating their strategies. While some see this as a win for the status quo, it's crucial to recognize that the digital landscape is still shifting towards a more privacy-conscious future. For online communities, this means that relying solely on third-party data for targeting and personalization will become increasingly unsustainable. Community managers need to leverage this period as an opportunity to strengthen first-party data strategies. AI is becoming more integrated into our lives, from helping with homework to even assisting in writing letters. But when does using AI cross the line from helpful to harmful? Recently, Google released an Olympic-related ad that stirred up quite a bit of controversy. The ad featured a father using AI to write a letter to an Olympic athlete on behalf of his daughter. Critics were quick to argue that the ad sent the wrong message, suggesting that AI should replace something as personal and creative as a child’s heartfelt words. This brings up an important question: Are we letting technology do too much for us, especially when it comes to creative tasks? Shouldn’t childr…

Have you used ChatGPT for SEO? Well, I have used ChatGPT for keyword research and I am quite impressed with the result. Instead of using a keyword tool, I ask ChatGPT to provide keywords, keyprase, or long tail search term on certain niche. From finding primary and secondary keywords to finding high CPC and low CPC keywords I use ChatGPT for keyword research and the result is amazing. Well, I don't trust the result 100 percent and I do cross check but most of the time there is accuracy.

What is Interaction to Next Paint (INP)? Google uses INP to assess your site’s overall responsiveness. If you click on a drop-down menu and there’s a delay with its opening, this latency shows poor responsiveness and relates to INP. If there are issues with INP, user experience suffers because the user may continue clicking on your site’s menu, waiting for a response. INP is the time it takes from the initial user interaction and when the next frame on the site is painted. https://searchengineland.com/optimizing-inp-interaction-to-next-paint-440017

A self-hosted community has over 300,000 users registered over the years. I assume that at least 30% of email addresses are no more valid. It means I must manage e-mail bounces to proceed with bulk mails. I am going to switch from Google to Amazon SES/SNS. I have found two solutions: https://www.deschutesdesigngroup.com/portfolio-item/aws-simple-email-service-with-bounce-management/ https://ipb.silvesterwebdesigns.com/file/9-mail-bouncer/ Do you have experience with one or another? Which one would you recommend recognizing, marking and excluding bounced email addresses from the bulk mail recipients in IPS?

From the Digital MArketing Institute: It’s that time of year again! When our screens become a smorgasbord of Christmas ads which not only give us the festive feel as they tap into our emotions, but promote campaigns that use the best tactics of content marketing to get us spending. Think about it, why did you really buy that scarf for your great-aunt this year? You normally get her socks. Was it because she loves the color blue? Or was it the tiny dog wrapped in the scarf, lying in the arms of the hero that rescued him from the cold after getting lost in New York City that did it? You know, the Christmas ad that nearly had you in tears. We’ve all done it, b…

Lifestyle Marketing is a marketing method where marketers, businesses, and companies market a certain kind of lifestyle to their target audience rather than the product itself. You can see the best examples of Lifestyle Marketing in marketing campaigns of luxury brands. Luxury brands promote a posh lifestyle and the people who use these brands categorize themselves with the lifestyle represented by these brands. Not just with luxury brands, even for the products that are targeted towards the masses, Lifestyle Marketing is popular as the masses can relate to the lifestyle presented through the marketing campaigns.

Google has rolled out ranking improvements aimed at showcasing more content from social media, blog posts, forums and more that share personal insights and experiences. This is the hidden gems announcement Google made back in May, but this update is not part of the helpful content system. Hidden gems. Google said these “hidden gems” are when people share their first-hand knowledge and their own personal insights and experiences with others on the public web. Google wants to highlight such content in its search results and search interfaces. Not a core or helpful content update. This summer, Maybelline took over public transportation in London and New York with giant mascara wands swiping larger-than-life eyelashes at Tube stops and long, purple buses roaring down Broadway. The videos went viral, with people calling them “top notch” and “the best ad[s] ever.” None of it actually happened. The videos were created for Maybelline by CGI artist Ian Padgham as part of his production company, Origiful. Padgham has worked with other brands like Burberry, Gucci, Jacquemus, and Château de Cérons on what he calls “FOOH” (pronounced faux) or fake out-of-home content. Brands like Adidas, Mattel, and Truff have also used CGI to create seemingly…
