This study explores how technology, particularly social media, affects the engagement of indigenous community members with their indigenous knowledge (IK). Through interviews and analysis of Facebook Pages and Groups, the research contrasts offline and online engagement practices to understand the implications for community roles and IK transmission. Findings reveal shifts in community roles due to technology, including the absence of elders and the inclusion of "born towns" living in non-traditional settings. Fluency in the indigenous language serves as both a gatekeeper of community knowledge and a facilitator of IK discussion.
