This study investigates the relationships among learning styles, participation types, and learning performance in programming language education facilitated by an online forum. Using Kolb’s learning style inventory, participants (144 students) were categorized as 'Diverger,' 'Assimilator,' 'Converger,' or 'Accommodator.' The study found that different learning styles and participation types significantly impacted learning scores, with 'Accommodators' and 'Repliers' achieving the highest scores. However, learning satisfaction did not significantly vary among styles or participation types, although it was generally high. The findings suggest that active participation in online forums enhances learning performance in programming courses.
